I love the texture that quilting creates to very flat, one dimensional quilt tops. To quilt means to stitch through three layers; quilt top, batting and backing. For each client, their quilt top is made with love and it holds special memories. Working with them gives me the opportunity to enhance the overall look and feel of these works using my unique quilting style.

As the Bernina ambassador for quilting in South Africa, I have a Bernina Q24 long-arm machine that I work on. This machine enables me to do a lot more quilting than on the domestic machine. I don’t have a computerised machine and I don’t do pantograms as I like turning every customer’s work into a masterpiece! The long arm quilting machine allows me to be creative and do beautiful, intricate custom quilting which is the stuff that feeds my soul. I get the opportunity to meet the nicest people who think like I do. They create the quilt tops and I do the quilting on these.
