CATCHING ME BY SURPRISE
Every year I think I am well prepared for the festive season and every year it catches me by surprise! This year, once again, the same thing happened and yet again I find myself wondering how I allow this to happen! I think we are all so busy creating beautiful artworks that we lose track of time and when Christmas comes along, it is a wake-up call that the New Year is about to start.
CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS
I am not really a person who decorates my home so that it looks like a Christmas-winter-wonderland, filled with pine trees covered in snow and Christmas decorations. I live in Johannesburg and it is mid-summer here in December with temperatures of 37C (98.6 F)! The last thing on my mind is snow! However, this year my home will be filled with family and friends and I will decorate it with the cheer of the festive season in true African style! I’m planning on using the dead flower stems of my beautiful aloes as trees and decorate them with tinsel and other bling!
THE CHRISTMAS GIFT HEADACHE
Buying Christmas gifts can be a real headache and some of you might enjoy rushing around the shops but I for one, stay as far away from the shops as possible! If you are still looking for a gift for that special person in your life, I have some really nifty ideas for you to create and to give as Christmas gifts! There is always time for creating some interesting gifts in front of my sewing machine and I thought I’ll share some ideas with you.
On my website you will find a FREE FESTIVE SEASON TABLE DECORATION pattern and instructions that you will love creating. It also makes really nice Christmas gifts so keep that in mind! Have a look here.

Then of course there are always those friends that you really want to give a special gift to but never quite know what to give. How about gifting them one of my stunning classes that you can find on my website under MASTERCLASSES? They will love these as my classes are easy to follow and they can do it in their own time, in the comfort of their homes! Have a look and I’m sure you will find the perfect gift here!
As if that is not enough, if you look at this link, you will find an easy, FREE mini quilt that you can create in a couple of hours! Also another good idea as a Christmas gift!

REFLECTION TIME IN AMONG THE RUSH
In among the rush to the shops to get all the food shopping done, it is a time for reflection on the past year and I cannot help but think about all the wonderful people who came across my path this year. I have the most supportive children, family, friends and students and I love all of them! I know it sounds gushy but it’s true!
To all my followers on social media, my friends, family and students, I wish you a wonderful Festive Season and a prosperous and happy New Year!
Till next year,
Tilly
